Hi, my name is Karla Dick and I am the Alcohol and Drug Prevention Specialist for the Elko Band Colony. I was hired in this position on February 23, 2004. I have one son; two huttsi (boys), one brother, and two sisters; a nephew and a niece. I take pleasure in listening to round dance songs, being outdoors, and being around my family.

The Elko Band A&D program has been in operation for approximately 20 plus years. The program is funded through the Phoenix Area American Indian Health Service (IHS).

Services Provided:

  • A & D Evaluations
  • Out-Patient Counseling
  • In-Patient Treatment 24 years and older
  • Aftercare Counseling
  • Monthly Outreach - (3rd Monday of each month 5:30 - 8:00 PM)
 
  • Tutoring Program - (1st Thursday of the month)
  • GED
  • Visits: home, jail and office
  • Court: attend court at the request of a community member
  • Four Direction Campout - 11-18 years of age in July
  • Numerous Cultural Gatherings throughout the year
  • Shoshone Language with Evelyn Roche - every Tuesday 3:30 - 4:30 at the gym
